Our team has been visiting affected families during Cyclone Ditwah.
In recent days, Sri Lanka has been struck by a devastating cyclonic storm, which has unleashed torrential rains, floods and landslides across much of the country. According to the latest findings from the Disaster Management Centre (DMC), the impact has been enormous: as of now, approximately 833,985 people — from 234,503 families across 25 districts — have been affected by the flooding.
In response to this calamity, our team — together with our dedicated volunteers — has been moving across different communities, visiting affected families, listening to their needs, and offering support in whatever way we can: whether through distributing essential groceries, serving hot meals, or providing comfort and solidarity at this difficult time. Our motivated volunteers have braved flooded roads and hazardous conditions, determined to reach those who need help most.
We remain committed to continuing this work. In the face of such overwhelming loss and hardship, we stand in solidarity with our fellow citizens. We will stay the course — delivering aid, offering hope, and rebuilding, together.
